- Please come without makeup on.
- If you wear glasses, wear neutral colored glass frames, or clear contacts.
- Come without having been exposed to a lot of sun, a tanning bed, or spray tan.
- Wear any clothes you like. A white cape will be used to cover any other colors in the analysis.
- If you dye your hair, I ask that you wait until your roots grow out slightly. This is not a requirement, but will aid in the accuracy of seeing your natural features.
Frequently Asked Questions
Possibly. Over time we typically lose a bit of warmth and intensity, but everyone is different and we all don’t age the same. Some will stay in their palette, while others can even gain intensity! It is a general rule that every 20 years could be a good time to reassess your colors. If you notice over time your hair and skin have changed and wearing your colors doesn’t work the same way it did, you might want to consider seeing a trusted color analyst again.
No, this will not affect your results. It is not a problem if your hair is dyed or has highlights. I will, however, take into consideration your natural hair color, looking at either roots or eyebrows. Since in color analysis, we look at your natural features, this is what will be the priority. After we have determined your color palette, I will help give suggestions on which hair colors will compliment you best, or confirm that your hair color choice is spot on!
Light sun exposure is fine. However, if you’ve recently been exposed to a lot of sun, gone to a tanning bed, or applied spray tan, yes, it would be best to wait until the tan fades to book an appointment. Having a tan does not change your season, but the changes in the surface of your skin makes determining your undertone more complicated and it is a priority to me to create the most accurate environment for your analysis.
Since having the correct lighting in color analysis is crucial, I base my lighting on the correct time of day for the sunlight to be the most pure, while having calibrated artificial lighting as support. It is my preference to avoid relying on artificial lighting as the only light source for an accurate analysis.
